Steak and Potatoes My Way

My Way…I do it my way. Lol. Sorry made me think of Usher. And Yep. This is another steak recipe. We love our meat in this family. And what’s better then a twist on steak and potatoes.

Well if you’re looking for one here is mine. The theme behind this meal is roasted garlic butter. I was online looking at things and I saw a recipe for roasted garlic and all I could think was YUM! So I made some…ok I made a lot so now I need ways to use it. Prepare yourself for a lot of roasted garlic butter!

Steak: Remember what I said before, steak is some of the easiest food to make as long as you pick good quality meat. Good meat will be flavorful and only needs a little salt and pepper. But that’s not to say that a good sauce or flavored butter won’t make a good steak even better!

  • Ribeye
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Olive oil – 1 tbsp
  • Butter – 1 tbsp

Cooking: Pat your steak dry. Season them with plenty of salt and pepper. Heat a cast iron skillet over high heat. Add Olive Oil in pan followed by butter. Sear each side of steak 3-4 mins. Remove from pan and let rest before serving.

Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes

  • Red Potatoes
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Unsalted Butter
  • Roasted Garlic

Cooking: Halve the red potatoes and boil in salt water until falling apart. Once soft drain and place back in the arm pot. Add 1 stick of unsalted butter and 3 roasted garlic cloves. Mash. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Roasted Brussels Sprout:

  • Brussels Sprouts
  • Olive Oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Balsamic Vinegar

Cooking: Heat oven to 375. Halve brussels sprouts. On a baking sheet drizzle with olive oil and salt and pepper. Bake for 35 mins. In bowl toss roasted brussels sprouts with balsamic vinegar.

Roasted Garlic 4 cheese bread

  • Whole Foods 4 cheese bread (or really any kind of bread you want to use)
  • Roasted Garlic Butter

Cooking: Slice bread to desired thickness. Spread roasted garlic butter. Broil until golden brown.

And finally the Roasted Garlic Butter:

  • Head of Garlic
  • Olive Oil
  • Unsalted Butter
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Cooking: (more like assembling) Heat oven to 400F. Cut off top of garlic head and drizzle with olive oil. Wrap In aluminum foil  and bake for 30 mins. The garlic will be nice and soft. Let cool before handling. Advice, don’t cook this when hungry because your house is going to smell like roasted garlicy goodness and you’ll be starving.

After this amazing meal for dessert we finished with store bought snickerdoodles becasue with so much flavor and heaviness a small little bit of sweetness is all you need.

Bueno Provecho!
